About This Program
A 5-day beginner ski program that guides skiers from basic speed control to confident parallel turns. Starting with the “pizza” stance and progressing to “fries,” each day builds balance, control, and turning skills on green terrain—step by step, at the right pace. By the end of the program, skiers can link parallel turns and ski independently with confidence.
Program Structure
Pizza Basics
Objective: Learn to control speed using a stable wedge (“pizza”) stance on gentle terrain.
Success Criteria: Skier controls speed and stops confidently using a pizza stance.
Pizza Turns
Objective: Use the pizza stance to change direction and initiate basic turns.
Success Criteria: Skier links controlled pizza turns in both directions.
From Pizza to Fries
Objective: Begin transitioning from pizza to parallel (“fries”) skis during turns.
Success Criteria: Skier consistently matches skis at the end of turns.
Linking Fries Turns
Objective: Link turns with skis mostly parallel on green terrain.
Success Criteria: Skier links parallel turns with controlled speed and rhythm.
Independent Parallel Skiing
Objective: Ski green runs confidently with parallel skis and controlled turn shape.
Success Criteria: Skier completes green runs independently using parallel turns with confidence.
