About This Program
This 5-day beginner program is designed for first-time skiers or those returning after a long break. The focus is on developing a stable athletic stance, understanding how skis interact with the snow, and learning to control speed and direction on beginner slopes. By the end of the program, skiers will be able to glide confidently, stop safely, and link basic turns on green terrain with control and awareness.
Program Structure
Foundations & First Glide
Objective: Establish a balanced athletic stance and experience controlled straight gliding on flat terrain.
Success Criteria: Skier maintains a balanced stance and glides straight with control and comfort.
Learning to Control Speed
Objective: Learn to control speed using a basic wedge (snowplow) on gentle terrain.
Success Criteria: Skier can control speed and stop smoothly using a consistent wedge.
Introduction to Turning
Objective: Develop the ability to change direction using basic wedge turns.
Success Criteria: Skier links controlled wedge turns in both directions.
Improving Flow and Balance
Objective: Refine wedge turns with better rhythm, balance, and terrain awareness.
Success Criteria: Skier maintains rhythm and balance while linking turns confidently.
Confident Green Run Skiing
Objective: Ski green runs independently with controlled speed, direction, and confidence.
Success Criteria: Skier descends green terrain independently, linking turns with control and confidence.
