Week 2 Building BB Sports – Our First Client 🎿

Week 2 was a big milestone for BB Sports: we went from ideas and wish lists to real users and real feedback.

From Wishlist to Real Feature

We decided to turn one of the most requested wishlist items into reality: video upload.

And it worked faster than expected.

Our very first video was uploaded by a skier we didn’t even have contact information for. That immediately revealed a gap in our flow, so we added a new step to the web experience: collecting contact details after video upload.

First client video upload — the moment BB Sports became real.

Building the Review Flow

As soon as the video arrived, we started building the review system.

To close the loop, I:

  • Set up an SMTP service
  • Created a simple email notification to let users know when their video had been reviewed
  • Built admin features and screens so coaches can:
    • Write personalized feedback for each video
    • Trigger the review notification email
  • Built the skier side so users can read their feedback directly in the app

This was our first end-to-end experience: upload → review → notification → feedback.

Early Monetization Strategy 💸

At the same time, we began thinking about monetization.

Our current approach:

  • 🎁 First video review is free
  • 💳 Additional video reviews cost $9.99 each
  • 🔁 A subscription plan that includes:
    • Unlimited AI checks
    • 2 Pro (coach) reviews per week

This gives new users a low-friction entry point while validating willingness to pay.

The Second User: A Bigger Signal

The most interesting moment came with our second user.

Instead of just uploading a video, he asked about a full BB program: pricing, structure, duration, and expectations.

This was a huge signal.

First, he told us we’re building exactly what he was looking for.
Second, it made it clear that we need a clear, structured program—not just isolated video reviews.

We’re now benchmarking existing coaching programs and designing a scalable 1-week skiing program as our next step.

What’s Next?

This week confirmed something important:
People don’t just want feedback—they want a path to improve.

We’ll keep iterating, learning, and building in public.

Stay tuned.
